My Job

So, I've become a professional chairsitter. Basically, I'm getting paid to sit in one of a few chair, or else to dance in certain places, just to make places look alive and well-visited. And it pays niiiiiiice. :) I made more in the past two days by far than in two weeks at the bar. I guess the owners of these places have a vested interest in driving their traffic up, and need services like this. And, frankly, cats like sitting on big squuoshy chairs and the one place has nice big beanbag chairs I can flop across and just watch the world go by. You can't beat that and you know it. =^_^=

Today's my last day for the week, then I'm going to go celebrate tomorrow, but responsibly. I have enough for this week coming's rent, and if I count that, plus an extra L$200 I'm going to hold onto as a just in case rent, 'll still have enough that I can go shopping for some probably nice stuff. :)

I saw Ash today; he tried out one of our chairs for a while on a temp account to see what he could get. I know he doesn't really need the money, but it was nice to hang out with him for a while. One of my nephews is moving back home from... I guess some sort of schooling, I was never too sure. I didn't meet him as a baby and he's already in his early teens (Ash said magic was involved) and I'd like to meet him. :)

L$800 a month for a two-story house with roof deck.

I did it.

Now the annoyance of moving all my junk over all the way to Ulreung from Layleaux.  I'm half tempted to just have a moving sale.  All I've got in the new place so far is a couple of cushions to sleep on... but I'm a kitty, that's actually ok. =^_^=

I also already hung a framed picture of Sarny on the wall in the bedroom.  I'd like to have ones of Jen and FFerret too, but I never see him around much and Jen never really seemed one to have her picture taken.

I'll try to take some pictures of the place later today.  Oh, and it's almost within walking distance (of course, I'd fly) of my favorite casino in Baekdu.

I can't believe I'm househunting. :P

I'm not looking to buy; just rent. Fallon doesn't even really live with me anymore, although I do thank her for the portion of rent she still sends me every month for basically storing her stuff. But I'm getting tired of living in Lions, the whole high-rise bit, and so I spent a good part of yesterday visiting a couple of realtors looking for a little cottage or something that I can... make my kittynest, I guess.

It would be nice if I could convince Jen to move in with me, but I'd hate to have her move out of her place. It suits her, and honestly I couldn't picture her living anywhere else.

So I'll probably go visit the one renter again in a little bit; they had some properties, she said, that were leasing for pretty low, and I think I could probably pull it as long as she's not asking for a month up front... I -might- be able to do that by the end of the week but then I'd be broke.

so. We'll see.

[ooc: I'm referring to both Taps and Second Life at once here. I was really looking to rent places last night, but I haven't convinced myself yet; if I do, for parity's sake, I'm going to destroy my apartment on Taps and recreate my house in it, describing whatever I have in SL. so. that's the bottom of it =^_^= ]

I quit the bar, quit the bar, la la la hoo hee ha! =^_^=

Don't get me wrong. I liked it there; it just... wasn't working out for me. I got a good going away present too; a spa visit, and I got my wings all groomed and prettied and stuff and they haven't looked this good or felt this flexible in a long time. I feel great! :)

I want to go out and around today but I have lots of crap to do around the apartment... Ash just had his fourth kitten, and I'm going to try to have them over at some point and my apartment isn't exactly babyproof.

Maybe I'll go out to a club or something later. Punk invited me to one, even though all the good dancing spots were taken, but I was in the middle of trying to sort some stuff of mine and I might have accidentally blown her off. I didn't mean to! I'll have to apologize. :)

Found a suit. :) It's purple! Will try to get someone to take a pic of me in it, if I can. Maybe Aries, if I see him -- wanted him to take some more pictures of me anyway, in this absolutely beautiful dress I own, like a glamour shots sort of deal...

Got some errands to do, then probably will hit the town in a couple hours. :)

Mew. I am so happy that the week is over now and I can go out and have fun. I bought a cute pair of shorts today; they're cream and kinda short and snug and comfy and I think I'm going to wear the heck out of them now that it's warm.

I didn't get around to writing about the events of last week, mostly because... there were only a few notable ones. Specifically, Sarny. Hi, Sarny! *prrr* I don't need to go on and on, save for him being a wonderful fox who I love very much and can't wait to see again, hopefully tomorrow. So now I guess it really does run in the family... Ash has Filigree, and his kit, and a few other strong important lovey people, and now I have Jen and FFerret and Sarny. *mrr* Sarny's fur is so soft... it reminds me of FF's but being a fox of course it's longer... prr. And he knows how to treat me right and that's important to the cattish folk. Plus, he's got a good sense of humor, and doesn't mind at all when I pounce him. (Neither do Jen or FF either, so... mrrp, all good all round).

I broke down and bought a helmet... it's a pain to coil and tuck all my hair up into it, but I feel a lot safer now when I'm flying... now I need to find some sort of flight suit, something cute, but I could probably whip something together if I have to.

Anyway, it's time to shower and eat ice cream and go to bed... I'm tired and a little sore and the apartment is empty tonight and I don't feel like digging in my happy box for something to play with so I'm just going to crash and sleep in, and then in the morning see about the flight suit or something like and then try to see if Sarny is up.

So anyway, here's the story behind my toy. One of the regulars at Cirque, a rather cute human named Punk (interestingly enough), chatted me up for a time before, and I thought she was pretty nice so we agreed to keep in touch... she goes to some of the same clubs I do so we kept bumping into each other... anyway, she likes cats. :) so... she, uh, invited me over the other night and the details of that don't really need to be discussed but it was fun and nice. She reminds me of Jen a lot, actually, but... I don't think there's anywhere near that level of attraction, she's just real nice and fun to be with, and she has a pet of her own anyway. But we got to talking, and she pulls out this jetpack thing and shows it to me, because we were talking about my wings, and she said it's all she can manage to use as an equivalent, lacking wings of her own. So I was curious, I mean, a jetpack on a winged kitty is kinda redundant, but... she showed it off to me a little and after I left later that evening I looked up the dealer's address, and headed over to browse around... man, some of that stuff is expensive. But cool, and appealed to my sexy inner geek (Ash, you really should go over there, they have some stuff you might be able to use around your house, security stuff like that, I worry about the four of you and my nephews and niece living out in the wild like you do)... and sitting on the showroom floor was this thing, and... I fell in love with it and worked out the purchase on the spot.

So I called Kupo up, knowing he'd probably be out and about the town, and asked him what he was up to, and where he was and he asked if I wanted to hang out, so I told him sure, but go outside and wait for me...

I couldn't exactly see him, I was trying not to crash (it's FAST, whee! and it... er, vibrates, so it was... kinda nice *blush*) but I had him on the handsfree and all I heard was him shriek in surprise... I think I almost landed on him, and he looked rather pale for a furry when I shut the engines down and popped the canopy and stood up in the seat.

The manual's pretty thick, and is gonna need some studying, so I expect that will take up much of tonight. I know I can adjust the tint of the canopy for sun shading, need to find out how because it got hot in there quick.

Hovering above the beach; I know this thing kicks up a lot when I'm close to the ground, so I hope I was high enough that I wasn't sandblasting poor Kupo. =O.o= I think I saw him diving for cover under a beach umbrella. Anyway, that's the Luxor again, and me trying to figure out what the left display was trying to tell me. I'm still trying to get the feel of this thing, makes me feel I could fly right off the edge of the world if I'm not too careful...

See, it surprises people I meet when I let slip how much of a geek I really am underneath the cute. But I am, I really am. It might not be this year's model, it's only a one-seater, but I got it for real, real little and I'm getting it repainted purple and pink ^_^. And it's a lot easier than just fying naturally, especially when the weather is bad or I have a lot of crap to carry, or I'm too sore...

I probably would have gotten into a lot of trouble, come to think of it, because I'm not sure I should have landed it on the beach. ^_^ But I think it was only Kupochan (kittyfriend of mine) who was there to see me, so... got him to take this nice pic of me standing in the cockpit with the FurNation Luxor behind me.
